Suhru Wines—a family run winery established in 2008—was a dream that developed over the course of Susan and Russell's life together. Russell has inspired Susan's passion for wine, introducing her to its many nuances, flavors, and styles. It is this joint love of wine that inspired Suhru Wines!

 

Throughout the course of their marriage Susan and Russell have travelled the world together, exploring wine regions across the globe as they expand and develop their love of food and wine. This love extends into every aspect of their lives. This deep appreciation and respect for the food and wine industry is a value the whole family shares, inspiring their daughters Shelby and Kylie to take an active part in the family business. 

 

Suhru Wines winemaking style and approach stems from Russell's background and extensive experience in the industry. An Australian native, Russell began his career working in Western Australia, greatly influencing his technical style and artistry. He continued his education working harvests in New Zealand and France before moving to the United States where he has worked in a number of US wine regions, with the last 30 years spent focused on Long Island and the wine regions across New York State. 

 

At Suhru, we make wines from varietals we love and the ones we are passionate about. Our goal has always been to source excellent fruit from the regions in New York where each variety grows best. Our wines include tank fermented crisp, dry white wines showcasing their varietal aromas, flavors, and crisp acidity as well as barrel aged and fruit forward red wines with soft tannins. The Suhru Wines portfolio contains vibrant, balanced, and approachable wines for all to enjoy.
